A day of activities for viola players happens tomorrow, Saturday February 4, at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal. It is organised by Jocelyne Bastien, viola prof at the Conservatoire, along with Pemi Paull and the Canadian Viola Society.
A nerdy gathering of the orchestra’s favourite scape goat, or an intelligent day of skilled people sharing information and music? Some of both, most likely, which is what makes events like this worth checking out.
I’ll lead a workshop on improvisation at 1:30 PM, and my new trio, Cénacle, will play a few movements in the evening concert at 7:30 PM.
Everything is free, and open to violists and admirers alike.
